Knutsen OAS Shipping and its partners are going to the Chinese lease finance market to fund an LNG carrier on order at Hyundai Heavy Industries for Spanish utility Endesa.
The relatively expensive financing move is necessary because the HHI Ulsan newbuilding's seven-year time charter to Endesa is not long enough to allow funding through a US bond placement, say finance sources.
