AP Moller-Maersk’s strategic shift from a conglomerate into a transport and logistics specialist has been criticized by a Danish investor after a disappointing first quarter.

Copenhagen-listed Maersk has been selling energy assets to refocus on container shipping in a process expected to take up to five years.

Karsten Lund Sondermolle, portfolio manager at BankInvest, has hit out at the plan, suggesting the company should focus on costs and other basic elements rather than its more complex plan.
