The Seoul-listed shipbuillder booked earnings of KRW 9.4bn ($8.4m) inthe three months to 30 June, overturningthe KRW 48.3bn net loss seen during the corresponding period of 2012.
Operating profit leapt to KRW 79.3bn from a KRW 6.1bnoperating loss a year ago, the company reported.
Revenue for the period rose by 13.7% to KRW 725.2bn.
HHIC has four 150,000-dwt bulkers in its orderbook for compatriot shipowner Hyundai Merchant Marine.
