Grand China Logistics is to prioritise settling rows over non-payment of charter hire even if it means abandoning a huge takeover of one of the world’s biggest containing leasing companies.

A commitment to settling the chartering row has been given by a top executive of the company with Shanghai media reporting that belt tightening measures might even include giving up the more than $1bn acquisition of GE SeaCo which leases about 1m teu of shipping containers, selling ships, issuing a bond or raising a loan.
