The Belgian company said Friday that it had signed a letter of intent to provide the unit for the Douglas Channel LNG project in Vancouver.
If true it would be a severe dent to Golar which owns a stake in the venture along with LNG Partners and HN LNG GP.
But the project partners issued a statement denying that any deal had been concluded.
