Deutsche Borse subsidiary EEX Group has notched-up its most successful year ever for freight.
Volumes of its cleared and exchange-traded dry bulk freight business jumped tenfold in 2020.
The company said some 789,921 lots of dry freight derivatives were traded last year, compared with 74,776 lots in 2019.
The bulk of that was made up by freight futures. These rose a whopping 819% to 601,503 lots, up from 65,446 in the previous corresponding period.
