Peter Georgiopoulos-fronted Gener8 booked a profit of $19.9m in the three months to the end of June, overturning a loss of $33.3m a year ago.
Adjusted for one-off items, it booked a gain of $37m for the quarter, which beat the $33.2m consensus.
On an operating level the performance was worse than expected with the company’s spot numbers below those recorded by peers.
