Fincantieri's core first-half profit sinks

Fincantieri reported a drop in core first-half profit Wednesday though its revenue improved.

The Italian shipbuilder said its result attributable to the group fell to EUR 7m ($7.7m), down from EUR 12m a year earlier. The figure factors out the shares of other owner's stakes in Fincantieri's part-owned subsidiaries.

However, the Italian shipbuilder reported a bottom-line consolidated result of EUR 5m, which represented a flip from the loss of EUR 19m in the first six months of 2015.
