The Bombay-listed company will seek shareholder approvalfor the undertaking at its upcoming AGM in September, a stock exchange filingsaid.
Essar has total cargo handling capacity of 104 million tonnesand is in the process of expanding it by close to 80% to 181 million tonnes by2016.
The company has yet to decide what form the fundraisers will take but it isexploring all options including public issues and qualified institutional placement(QIP).
