In the Nasdaq-quoted company’s earningsrelease George Economou told investors that recent volatility in the tanker anddry-bulk segments is a “clear sign” of what he described as a “balancedsupply-demand picture”.
“Asset prices arerising which is a strong indication of current market sentiment,” the Greekshipping tycoon continued in the late-breaking announcement. “We are optimisticand expect a sustainable recovery in 2014 and beyond.”
Economou was quickto point out that many of DryShips’ bulkers and tankers are exposed to the spotmarket, which is why he is confident that the company is “uniquely positioned”to cash in on what he called an “imminent market recovery”.
