Stamford-based Eagle Bulk Shipping did not quite get to the point of confirming that it was a contender for the fleet of Grindrod Shipping during an earnings call on Friday, but it came close.
Analyst Omar Nokta of Jefferies broached the subject after TradeWinds reported 31 October that both Eagle and New York neighbour Genco Shipping & Trading had been bidders in the Grindrod acquisition process that ultimately saw Taylor Maritime Investments (TMI) prevail.
