The Nasdaq-listed stock price of Eagle, the Gary Vogel-led supramax specialist, jumped 30% to end the session at $9.19.
The intraday price reached as high as $11.55, 63.4% above yesterday’s close of $7.07.
Some 4.45 million shares changed hands compared to a daily average of just 79,000, according to Google Finance.
