The Japanese owner booked a loss of JPY 7.85bn ($63m) in the opening three months of its financial year, against a JPY 2.52bn loss a year ago.
Daiichi responded by extending its forecast for the fiscal year to a loss of JPY 13.00bn.
This is beyond both the JPY 3.31bn red figure booked last year and the JPY 6.00bn it has previously guided on for the ongoing year to the end of March 2016.
