The Shanghai and Hong Kong-listed company slumped to a CNY2.63bn ($423.5m) deficit last year compared to a CNY 552.7m profit in 2012.
The reversal came despite sales rising slightly to CNY34.3bn from CNY 33.4bn a year earlier.
CSCL predicted the decline earlier this year, blaming the “increasedsupply and demand imbalance of the container transportation”.
Last week tanker and bulker owner China Shipping DevelopmentCo (CSDC) revealed a net deficit of CNY 2.2bn
