Cash-rich French container line CMA CGM is moving into the finance arena in a bid to help clients.
It has set up Shipfin Trade Finance, a joint venture with finance platform Incomlend, to offer supply chain and cargo funding to exporters and importers.
Mathieu Friedberg, senior vice president of CMA CGM's commercial agencies network, said the group was going "even further in the customer relationship."
