Containership demolition activity has experienced a striking slowdown despite loss-making conditions in the market, Bimco says.
Lead analyst Peter Sand says while freight rates are back from the abyss, the rise seems a magnitude beyond their actual performance.
Sand says that in June only seven small boxships were scrapped, some way from the 29 ships of 99,899-teu that left for the beach in January.
