In a letter to its business partners, it said it had not undertaken any new obligations or paid creditors since 5 November.
“No new agreements for bunkers trading will be entered into as long as the uncertainty of future of Bergen Bunkers exists,” it added.
Any future commitments relating to maintaining its office facilities will be paid in cash.
The company is owned by OW Bunker Norway, which is in turn owned by bankrupt OW Bunker & Trading.
