The Oslo-listed owner said its net result was $18.6m to 30 June, compared to $6.3m in the same stretch of 2014.

Its earnings per share of $0.63 were six cents ahead of analysts’ estimates.

Aurora said its time charter equivalent earnings for the quarter were $87,000 per day, slightly improved from the $84,865 of last year.

It also more than doubled its revenue which sat at $23.7m
