Apollo Global Management's Arthur Regan is taking the helm at Genco Shipping & Trading as Peter Georgiopoulos exits.
The interim appointment elevates a shipping veteran from one of the New York-bulker owner's major private equity shareholders, which recently increased their ownership as part a restructuring deal that Genco has been working to finalise.
Regan is chief executive of the Apollo controlled tanker company Principal Maritime Management, and he is an operating partner at the private equity giant's Apollo Investment Consulting, according to a Morningstar profile.
