US barge and shipyard player American Commercial Lines (ACL) has plunged to a $12.05m loss in 2009, compared to $48.01m profit the year before.
Revenues dropped to $846m, from $1.15bn in 2008, as transport activity weakened and yard business fell by 81 delivered barges.
The transportation business’ revenues were $621.6m in 2009, a decrease of 30.8% year-on-year.
