Eurotankers of Greece is boosting its tanker footprint with a suezmax from the fleet of bankrupt Toisa.
Sources said the company has purchased the 159,000-dwt United Leadership (built 2005) for $18.2m.
The Hyundai Heavy Industries-built vessel is due for special survey in February 2020.
Given the pressure on tanker values, the price is surprisingly strong compared to another 13-year-old suezmax, the DSME-built Teide Spirit (built 2004).
