Scorpio Tankers partnering with start-up in carbon capture project

New York-listed Scorpio Tankers has stepped into the area of onboard carbon capture through a memorandum of understanding with a US-based start-up venture.

Scorpio, one of the world’s largest product tanker owners, announced on Monday its collaboration with Carbon Ridge, a Los Angeles-based company focused on decarbonising commercial shipping.

“We are pleased to partner with Carbon Ridge and assist in their efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of maritime transportation," said Emanuele Lauro, Scorpio chief executive.
