Wartsila has pledged to be carbon-neutral by 2030.
Executives told TradeWinds the "Set for 30" commitment is part of "walking the walk" on climate change in its own operations, as it tries to help shipowners reduce their emissions.
The pledge covers greenhouse gas emissions from the company's research and development and factory engine testing areas. These are classed as scope 1 emissions.
