Nippon Steel Corp has enlisted the help of Mitsui OSK Lines on a project to ship and store up to 5m tonnes of liquefied CO2per year.
The giant Japanese steelmaker is carrying out a feasibility study.
The plan is eventually to store liquefied CO2 from its steel mills at deepC Store’s offshore floating carbon capture and storage (CCS) facility, Cstore1.
