Idan Ofer’s Eastern Pacific has scrapped one of its capesize bulkers at a time when the demolition of large dry cargo vessels is limited.
It has sent the 211,000-dwt Guofeng First (built 1996, formerly Kildare) for demolition in Pakistan, scrapping sources say.
A price in the region of $465 per ldt or $11.9m is being placed on the ship, which is described as firm by market sources.
