Eight former executives at Vietnam’s state yard group Vinashin are appealing their jail terms over financial mismanagement.
Ex-chairman Pham Thanh Binh and seven others lodged their appeal within the 15 days stipulated at their sentencing in early April.
Binh, 58, was jailed for 20 years for intentionally violating state regulations at Vinashin, which racked up $4.4bn of debt through diversification into shipowning and other non-core sectors.
