Brazilian mining giant Vale is reported to be considering halving the size of a series of giant 400,000-dwt bulk carrier newbuildings ordered to carry iron ore to China.
There has been intense speculation about the future of Vale’s order for 20 “Chinamax” very large ore carriers since the first vessel to be delivered was rerouted from China to Europe on its maiden voyage.
