China’s Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) is poised to land orders for five bulkers from South Korean shipping companies.
Shipowners Sinokor Merchant Marine and Polaris Shipping have signed letters of intent for the newbuildings at the state-owned yard. The orders could be worth $294m at today's prices.
Diversified Sinokor has signed up for four newcastlemaxes and Polaris is ordering a 180,000-dwt capesize.
