Dutch naval architect C-Job has designed a new wind-assisted ship for compatriot owner Switijnk Shipping that could cut fuel use by 14%.
The company said its 8,500-dwt general cargo Flettner Freighter will come with two Norsepower Rotor Sails to supplement the main engines.
C-Job was approached by Switijnk following its involvement in the European Union Interreg project S@IL, for which C-Job developed the earlier design of a 4,500-dwt Flettner Freighter.
