Star Bulk Carriers has fixed out one of its kamsarmaxes on a short period deal as the Baltic Dry Index continued to improve on Friday.
New York-listed Star Bulk has secured $14,800 per day for the 82,000-dwt Star Mariella (built 2006) on a six to eight month contract.
The rate compares with the $12,500 per day similar vessels are presently earning in the spot market.
