Star Bulk Carriers’ board of directors appear to have played a big part in clinching last week’s 16-ship acquisition from Augustea Atlantica and York Capital Management — and likely in more ways than one.
In a general sense, Star Bulk’s large, independent-orientated board made it easier to accommodate Augustea chief executive Raffaele Zagari as a new member as part of the deal, according to sources familiar with the transaction.
