South Korean shipowner Sinokor Merchant Marine (SMM) is understood to be close to selling a modern Japanese-built capesize bulker.
The sale of the 181,000-dwt South Trader (built 2014) would be a profitable asset play, European shipbrokers said. The ship is likely to fetch $36m to $37m.
SMM did not respond to a request for comment. It bought the ship from MOL for $28m as the Coral Dream in September 2016.
