India's Sanmar Shipping has completed a temporary exit from the bulker market, selling a 14-year-old supramax for demolition.
The 54,000-dwt Sanmar Phoenix (built 2002) has been sold as is in Colombo for $296 per ldt or $3.9m. The deal includes 200 tons of bunkers, TradeWinds is told.
In August the Indian owner scrapped its other bulker, the 73,000-dwt Sanmar Paragon (built 1998).
