Safe Bulkers chief executive Polys Hanioannou says the New York-listed owner will likely keep its last remaining newbuildings.
The comment comes weeks after his private interests purchased two other newbuildings from Athens-based Safe.
"It is a good assumption to say that these two ships will be kept in the fleet. This is the planning as of now," Hanioannou said during questioning by an analysts in an earnings briefing.
