In a weekly market briefing Lion Shipbrokers of Greece argued that bulker values, in particular, do not seem to be “showing any serious further correction”.
Over the past seven days the firm claims only four bulkers changed hands, a figure billed as a reflection of buyers’ reluctance to target tonnage at current levels.
“The dry market is still not showing any direction as the BDI is hovering over the 1000 mark, confusing shipowners, shipbrokers and shipping analysts alike,” it added.
