A 12-year-old supramax bulker in the fleet of Otto Gregard Tidemand-controlled Stove Shipping has been reported sold for a higher-than-expected price.
Brokers in the US said the 56,000-dwt Bulk Avanti (built 2006) was offloaded for $13m. The Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding-controlled bulker is the oldest vessel in Stove Shipping's supramax-focused fleet.
The price appears firm compared with the $14.2m that was achieved in a recently reported sale of the Kawasaki Heavy Industries-built, 55,000-dwt Navios Armonia (built 2008).
