NYK has ordered a 98,500-dwt coal carrier at compatriot shipbuilder Oshima Shipbuilding for delivery in the first quarter of 2021.
The Tier III-rated ship has been ordered on the back of a long-term contract with Kobe Steel. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Upon delivery of the new vessel will transport coal from locations outside Japan to mainly the city of Kobe under the 20-year charter.
