ClassNK has given its backing to a project for a large LNG-powered bulk carrier being developed by NYK Line and Japan Marine United (JMU).
The classification society said in a statement it has granted an approval in principle for the project.
The ship on the drawing board is a 200,000-dwt bulker, which would be among the largest dry cargo vessels built at the Japanese shipyard.
