Switzerland-based NovaAlgoma Cement Carriers (NACC) has clinched a long-term bulker charter in Canada.
The Algoma and Nova Marine Carriers joint venture said a modern vessel it owns will be converted into a "state of the art and energy efficient" pneumatic cement carrier of more than 12,500 dwt.
It will serve a time-charter with Lafarge Canada from early 2018.
Conversion work will take place over 10 months.
