The Canadian authorities appear to be facing a battle to recover costs arising from the wreck of a bulk carrier off Nova Scotia.
Ownership of the 28,000-dwt Miner (built 1966) and any insurance cover the vessel may have is unclear but the cost of removing the wreck and any hazardous materials the ship may contain is put at $24m.
