Capesizes are entering their strongest season already strong, Arctic Securities claims in a report, suggesting even more upside than currently forecast. Research analyst Lars Ostereng says the seasonality in the capesize markets suggests typically firm rates at the end of July, “meaning that we are now entering peak season on a high note”. He adds: “There is a good chance that rate expectations for [the second half of 2018] are too low.”
