In a meeting today, deputy minister of transport Saul Girdauskas said the 17,789-dwt Voruta (built 1999) is moored at Portugal’s Aveiro port and the crew does not want to leave the ship.
The deputy minister said the seafarers want to finish the job and deliver the cargo to Equatorial Guinea.
Another vessel, the 24,202-dwt open-hatch Venta (built 1995) is located in Philadelphia, US, and the captain has confirmed that all necessary supplies are at adequate levels.
