Going forward the Nasdaq-quoted owner, which now specialises in capesize bulkers, will be known as Knightsbridge Shipping.
The company has revised the domain name of its website to reflect the change but its long-time ticker, VLCCF, will remain the same.
"We don't have any tankers. It's as simple as that," chief executive Ola Lorentzon told TradeWinds when asked about the name change.
