The organisation says the 55,300-dwt Genco Provence(built 2004) was held in Jacksonville, Florida after the crew failed to perform a satisfactory fire drill.
“The fire party neglected to follow the ship’s approved fire training manual for space entry and fire cooling boundaries,” officials added.
“Subsequent fire drills failed to meet minimum standard of crew familiarization of essential shipboard procedures relating to safety of ships.”
