Eagle Bulk Shipping appears to have landed at the centre of a dispute between a Chilean bunker supplier and embattled Greek bulker operator Allied Maritime.
World Fuel Services affiliate Tramp Oil Marine (Chile) has asked a federal judge in Seattle to issue an arrest warrant for the 56,000-dwt Golden Eagle(built 2009).
The company is looking to secure more than $731,000 in damages that stem from an overdue fuel bill incurred while Allied was operating the Eagle handymax late last year, according to court documents.
