DryShips reported a smaller quarterly loss as the company said bank talks continue over its debt.

The George Economou-led owner of bulkers and offshore vessels reported a third-quarter bottom-line loss of $5.25m, well below the $820m logged a year earlier.

But adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation flipped to a loss of $7.88m, from positive $1.57m a year earlier.

Revenue at the Greek company declined by 76.2%
