China has revealed near record levels of steel output on the back of rising iron ore import data, which some analysts see as positive signs for dry-bulk shipping.
The 70.5 million tonnes of output in May was the second-highest monthly total on record, though the year-to-date data still shows a 1.5% decline from the first five months of last year, according to Arctic Securities shipping analyst Erik Nikolai Stavseth.
