Marubeni Itochu Tubulars America claims the company is responsible for bundles of steel casings that were damaged on board the 32,100-dwt Ocean Belle (built 1999) during a voyage from Japan to Houston in January of last year.
The company has asked the judge assigned to the case, which also names Star Bulk Carrier Co as a defendant, to attach the plaintiff's assets as a security measure while seeking damages of around $35,000.
