The allegations surfaced in a lawsuit filed by OW Bunker (OW), which claims to be owed nearly $1m for fuel supplied to the 93,300-dwt bulkers Chang Hang Ji Hai (built 2009) and Chang Hang An Hai (built 2010) late last year.
The plaintiff has asked a judge in Louisiana to issue an arrest warrant for the 58,000-dwt Chang Hang Hao Hai (built 2011) in an effort to secure the claim while it prepares a case in which it will attempt to hold the Shenzhen-listed owner accountable for overdue invoices.
