All 22 crew have been saved after their general cargoship sank off the Philippines.
The Inquirer daily said the 2,300-dwt Fortuner (built 1976) went down carrying a cargo of iron 2.2km from Talisay City early on Sunday.
The vessel left a 25-metre oil sheen on the surface.
The Philippines Coast Guard said an investigation has begun.
It added that the vessel suffered a hull crack along its midsection in the early hours.
